It is never easy to say goodbye...

Matthew poured his heart and soul into Smokin Thighs for 10 years. He started this place as a food truck and a means to a new start for himself. A couple years later the restaurant opened and became a new start and a home to more than those who worked there. It was home to the community who spent countless days at the bar becoming close to the staff and Matthew himself. It was a family of people who came together all because of Matthew's dream and ambition. It was a staple and favorite place to those who pass through the doors on vacation and chose to return anytime they were in town to the neighbors in the area that loved a good Smokin Thighs snow day. This place was filled with heart and acceptance and great food thanks to Matthew. It had that something special about it. Matthew was certainly part of what made it special. He was known to be tough and tender all at the same time. His laugh could fill the biggest of spaces and his heart was quick to follow. He was taken from us all way to soon. The void of losing him and Smokin Thighs that has left in our hearts can only be filled by our memories made in this building and our memories made with him.
